Arthur Chandler, Professor of Humanities
Areas of interest: Chandler is the author of a 1986 historical text that recounts the history of SF State entitled The Biography of San Francisco State University. A member of the SFSU faculty since 1968, he is especially informed about the University’s early years, but is also highly informed about the time period from the 1890s to the 1980s.
Frank Sheehan, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics
Areas of interest: A member of the SFSU faculty since 1954, Sheehan has held many faculty and administrative positions with the University, including director of campus development and instructional research and vice president of administrative and business affairs. He is especially informed about the history of campus buildings, student life, and campus presidential searches.
Helene Whitson, SFSU Special Collections Librarian/Archivist
Areas of interest: A member of the University community since 1966, Whitson heads up the University’s historical archives and is a treasure trove of historical University information. Her special area of interest is the SFSU student/faculty strike of 1968 and the decade of the 1960s. She is also well informed about the years that span the founding of the University until the 1970s.
