SF State welcomes new students and their families

Annual "Welcome Days" events offer excellent photo opportunities Aug. 17 and 18

SF State will welcome approximately 7,000 freshmen and transfer students with activities designed to inform both students and parents about campus life. More than 30 events are planned on the campus at 1600 Holloway Ave., San Francisco.

Events with the best photo opportunities occur Aug. 17 and 18. These include:

Student Move-in Day
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17
Campus housing, Font Blvd. and Lake Merced Blvd.

Nearly 2,000 new students will set up residence in a matter of hours.

Zero Waste Lunch (Taste of SF State)
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18
Main quad, 19th Ave. and Holloway Ave.

See why SF State is one of the top 16 colleges in America for sustainable living. Approximately 4,000 students and their parents will sample campus food and learn how none of the waste generated by the event will wind up in landfill.
