All nine candidates will speak at forum in Cesar Chavez Student Center

WHAT:
All nine San Francisco mayoral candidates will speak at a San Francisco State University forum.

Each candidate will have 20 minutes to make opening remarks and answer questions from the audience.

The forum is one of only several that includes all nine candidates.

Unless one candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff election Dec. 9 between the two candidates who received the most votes Nov. 4.

The forum is sponsored by the Golden Gate [X]press, SFSU's student newspaper, and Society of Professional Journalists.

WHO:
The candidates will appear as follows:

  • Noon: Tom Ammiano, member, San Francisco Board of Supervisors
  • 12:20 p.m.: Angela Alioto, civil rights attorney
  • 12:40 p.m.: Jim Reid, builder
  • 1:00 p.m.: Tony Ribera, educator and public administrator
  • 1:20 p.m.: Gavin Newsom, member, San Francisco Board of Supervisors
  • 1:40 p.m.: Matt Gonzalez, president, San Francisco Board of Supervisors
  • 2:00 p.m.: Michael Denny, company president
  • 2:20 p.m.: Roger Schulke, computer company executive
  • 2:40 p.m.: Susan Leal, San Francisco treasurer

WHEN:
Noon to 3:00 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, 2003
