WHAT: San Francisco State University's College of Business hosts "Putting E-Commerce to Work for Your Business: Promises and Pitfalls," the inaugural event of its newly formed Center for E-Commerce (CEC).
WHY: As e-commerce continues to evolve, old ventures fail, get snatched up or emerge as market leaders. What strategies are keeping some businesses in the game? SFSU has assembled a group of management-level professionals to discuss the key issues and trends in the field of e-commerce.
WHO: Carl Bass, President and CEO of Buzzsaw.com, will present the keynote address, "Putting E-Commerce to Work for Your Business: Promises and Pitfalls." Buzzsaw.com is an e-commerce company that offers design collaboration and project management tools to the construction industry, along with procurement and auction offerings and a goods and services exchange. There will also be two panel discussions with participants from e-commerce involved businesses such as Visualize.com, Wells Fargo and Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.
WHEN & WHERE: Friday, Oct. 6 at San Francisco State University's Downtown Center, 425 Market St., San Francisco. The keynote address begins at 9:10 a.m. Panel I: B2B, B2C and Marketing begins at 10 a.m. Panel II: Security, Mobility and Venture Capital begins at 11:15 a.m.
