Where can I park on or near campus?
Public parking is available for $1 an hour up to four hours or a daily maximum of $5 in Lot 20 (the multi-level parking structure; enter on State or North State drive), and in Lot 25 (on the west side of Winston Drive, behind Enterprise Rent-a-Car). Parking pay stations accept $1, $5 and $10 bills; however, the pay stations are not capable of issuing change. It is recommended that users carry exact change.
To avoid carrying change, frequent users can purchase $20 and $50 debit cards in the Bursars's Office, Administration building 155, and the One Stop Student Services in the Student Services building. Users can also add funds to the debit cards at the pay stations in lots 20 and 25.
Students who live on campus may purchase a Lot 25 semester permit for $225. The permit is valid at all times in Lot 25 on Winston Drive. The permit also is valid in levels 1 - 4 of Lot 20 between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday.
Street parking is also an option for students and visitors, especially for short periods. Most street parking is limited to one or two hours. Parking restrictions are strictly enforced. Longer-term free parking is available on 19th Avenue, Junipero Serra Boulevard, Lake Merced Boulevard, and Winston Drive. Allow a few minutes to walk to campus.
You may want to use the free SF State shuttle, which makes several stops on campus enroute to Daly City BART. Shuttle hours are 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. See the Campus Map for lot locations and shuttle stops. For more information, call the Parking Office, (415) 338-1441.
Because parking is extremely limited around campus, public transportation to and from campus is highly recommended.
