A. Corrigan, president, received an Honorary Doctor of Design degree
and delivered
the keynote address at the June 9, 2007 commencement
ceremony for Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) in Chung Li, Taiwan.
The honorary degree was conferred by CYCU's president Wan-Lee Cheng.
Business
Gulnur Tumbat, marketing, reached the 20,320-foot peak
of Alaska's Mt. McKinley last month during a research expedition
on her specialty -- risk marketing and risk consumption. Participating
as a consumer, she collected information about the unique business
relationship between guides and consumers who invest in adventure
tourism.

David
Lee, political science, was selected to participate in the "Senior
Executives in State and Local Government" program at Harvard University's
John F. Kennedy School of Government in June.
Creative Arts
Patricia Amlin, cinema (emerita), will exhibit a series of avian
wildlife oil paintings at the Randall Davey Audubon Center in Santa Fe,
New Mexico, July 6 through August 11.

Calloway,
music and dance, recently released a new CD of jazz music, "The
Code," and performed at Yoshi's Oakland on June 26.

cinema, screened "Viewmaster Documentaries," a
series of 3-D stereoscopic slide shows, at Darling Hall in Milwaukee,
The Practice Space in Ames, Iowa, and NWesternAve in Chicago on various
dates in June.
John Wilson, theatre arts, designed the set for the Aurora Theatre
production of John Guare's comedy, "Bosoms and Neglect," playing
through July 22.
