Art
Assistant Professor of Art Michael Arcega contributed to the "New Natives" art exhibition at Lightbombs Contemporary in Hong Kong, which features work by Filipinos who live around the world. The exhibition opened April 30 and will run until May 30.

Communication Studies
Assistant Professor of Communication Studies Samuel McCormick delivered the lecture "Doing Justice to the Social: A Conceptual History of Everyday Talk" at the University of San Francisco on April 29. The lecture explored the intellectual history of the communication practices of mass society and was a part of USF's College of Arts and Sciences' Junior Scholar Speaker Series.

Health Education
Professor of Health Education Erik Peper co-authored the article "Making the Unaware Aware -- Surface Electromyography to Unmask Tension and Teach Awareness," which was published in the spring 2014 issue of Biofeedback (Volume 42, Issue 1)

Secondary Education
Professor and Chair of Secondary Education Natalio Avani was elected to the National Executive Council of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) as an at-large representative. He will serve for two years. The AAUP represents 47,000 faculty members, with more than 300 local campus chapters and 33 state organizations.
