Counseling
Professor and Associate Chair of Counseling Andres J. Consoli was elected president of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. During his three-year term he will serve as president elect (this year), president (2014) and past president (2015).

Human Resources, Safety & Risk Management
Associate Vice President for Human Resources, Safety & Risk Management Lori Gentles was presented the Emerging Leader in Human Resources Award by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) at their annual conference March 19. The award recognized Gentles as a positive role model/mentor who has made significant contributions to the profession and campus.

International Programs
Associate Director of the Office of International Programs Jay C. Ward was selected to attend the 2013 International Education Administrators Fulbright Program in Japan. He is one of only 10 participants selected from the U.S. to participate in this two-week seminar to be held June 17-28. The seminars are designed to introduce participants to the society, culture and higher education system of Japan, giving them new perspective on the need to internationalize U.S. campuses and insight into how it can be done.

Music
Gega New Records recently released a CD of music performed by Associate Professor of Music Jassen Todorov, which includes three solo violin sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Assistant Professor of Music Martin Seggelke served as guest conductor for the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band at its March 15 concert in San Francisco.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Two plays by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Instructor Lynne Kaufman are being performed in the Bay Area. The Couch was at Tides Theatre March 3-31, and Acid Test: The Many Incarnations of Ram Dash transfers from a five-month run at the Marsh in Berkeley to open April 12 at The Marsh in San Francisco.
