Cinema
University Press of Mississippi has published three acclaimed Hollywood biographies penned by Associate Professor of Cinema Joseph McBride. Steven Spielberg: A Biography (1997) was updated for a second edition. Frank Capra: The Catastrophe of Success (2000) and Searching for John Ford (2001) were reprinted.

Creative Writing
Professor of Creative Writing Paul Hoover appears on the cover of the March 2011 issue of Poetry magazine. Several of his poems appear in the issue and Hoover reads his work on the magazine's audio podcast at www.poetryfoundation.org/journal/audio.html?show=The%20Poetry%20Magazine

Health Education
At the Annual Meeting of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback in New Orleans, Professor of Health Education Erik Peper presented the paper "I felt totally relaxed and the feedback showed I was not! SEMG for training muscle relaxation and awareness during toe touching" and the poster "The Deer in the Headlight: Using a stress profile assessment and training as a tool to improve student performance." Both were co-authored with Assistant Professor Health Education Rick Harvey and two undergraduate students.

Peper also presented his paper, "Surface electromyography to identify and reduce covert tension and improve performance."

Marketing
Professor of Marketing Subodh Bhat co-authored the article “Does communicating corporate parent brand heritage help spin-off stock performance?” which was published in the journal Corporate Communications.
