Kevin Kelly, manager of online teaching and learning/media distribution at SF State, was awarded the Community of Academic Technology Staff Outstanding Professional Award.

Asian American studies
"Oak Park Story," a documentary film by Asian American Studies faculty Valerie Soe and Russell Jeung won one of only four 2010 Bay Area Video Coalition's Media Maker awards.

Biology
Assistant Professor of Biology Chris Smith was part of an international research team that has mapped the genome of three kinds of parasitic wasp. Results were published in the Jan. 15 issue of Science.

Holistic Healing Studies
Erik Peper
, director of the Institute for Holistic Healing Studies, coauthored the article, "The hipbone is connected to the thighbone; the thighbone is connected to … Lessons learned from a somatic treatment session that significantly reduced severe chronic hip and leg pain," that was published in Tijdschrift voor Psychosomatische Fysiotherapie.

Labor Studies
John Logan
, associate professor and director of labor studies, authored "Lowering the Bar or Setting the Standard? Deutsche Telekom’s U.S. Labor Practices," for American Rights at Work.

Philosophy
Professor Emeritus of Philosophy Jacob Needlemen wrote the recently published book, "What is God?"

Poetry Center/Fine Arts Gallery
Poetry Center Director Steve Dickison and Fine Arts Gallery Manager Sharon E. Bliss co-edited  a new book, "Prison/Culture."

Public Health
Public Health Lecturers Ellen Wu and Len Finocchio and several Master of Public Health alumni and former faculty are among the contributors and editors of "Foundations for Community Health Workers."  Content for the manual is based on practices developed by the SF State and City College of San Francisco’s Community Health Works program.
