Special Education and Computer Science
Susan Courey, assistant professor of special education, and Kazunori Okada, assistant professor of computer science, presented a paper at the International Conference on Computer Supported Education in Lisbon, Portugal. They presented their work developing a Web-based lesson planning tool for trainee special education teachers.

Institute of Holistic Healing
Assistant Professor of Holistic Healing Studies Adam Burke recently published "Characteristics of College Students Enrolled in an Alternative Health/Complementary and Alternative Medicine Course: A Cross-sectional Comparison," was published in the January 2009 issue of Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing.

Burke also published "An International Comparison of Attitudes Toward Traditional and Modern Medicine in a Chinese and an American Clinic Setting," in the journal, Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Center for Teaching and Faculty Development
Kelli Stanley, publications director for the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development, won the Bruce Alexander Memorial Historical Mystery Award for her novel, "Nox Dormienda: A Long Night for Sleeping." The award was presented at the annual Left Coast Crime Conference.
