Geosciences
Professor of Geosciences Toby Garfield joined coastal and marine science researchers from the California State University to form the California State University Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology (COAST) in an effort to promote collaboration among campuses and disciplines to advance knowledge of California’s natural coast and marine resources.

International Relations
Assistant Professor of International Relations Andrei Tsygankov presented the paper, "Does Russia have a grand strategy?," at the International Studies Association annual convention, held in New York on Feb 15-18.

Urban Studies
Professor of Urban Studies Raquel Pinderhughes was a panelist on "Pathways out of Poverty through Green Collar Jobs: The Pinderhughes Training and Job Placement Model," at the National Association of State Community Service Programs, Green Power Workforce Panel in Washington D.C. on Feb. 5. Pinderhughes also appeared as the keynote luncheon speaker at the Association of California Community College Administrators meeting in San Diego on Feb. 17 and 18.
