Professor of Art Mark Dean Johnson gave a keynote presentation on Asian American Art March 6 at the Asian American Art Symposium at New York University's Asian/Pacific/American Institute in New York City.

Cinema
Assistant Professor of Cinema Julian Hoxter's documentary, "Imagine a School…Summerhill," has been released for distribution. Hoxter served as executive producer and director of photography. 

Holistic Health
Professor of Holistic Health Studies Erik Peper, co-authored "Psychophysiological Patterns During Cell Phone Text Messaging: A Preliminary Study" published in Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.

Peper made two presentations, "Make Health Happen" and "Psychophysiological Interventions in Performance Anxiety and Epilepsy," at the 13th Annual Meeting of the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe meeting in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, Feb. 26.

Assistant Professor of Holistic Health Studies Adam Burke chaired the California Acupuncture Board quarterly meeting in San Francisco, Feb. 19.

, head of collection acquisition management, has published English translations of a selection of Italian sonnets from the work of Ciro di Pers in Journal of Italian Translation (City University of New York/Brooklyn College, Fall 2008).  

Theatre Arts
"Rivington Street: Yiddish Culture in Comic Strips" is an art exhibit at the Jewish Community Library of San Francisco featuring comics by Theatre Arts Professor Joel Schechter and Spain Rodriguez. The exhibit runs through July 26.
