Frank Bayliss
, professor of biology and director of the Student Enrichment Opportunities Office, contributed a chapter to "Broadening Participation in Undergraduate Research: Fostering Excellence and Enhancing the Impact," published this month by the Council on Undergraduate Research. His chapter, "Institutional Transformation: Establishing a Commitment to Research and Student Success," profiled SF State's success with undergraduate student research programs.

Cinema
Footage shot by Professor of Cinema Jameson Goldner in 1965 is featured in the new DVD "The Last Days of the Fillmore," published by WEA/Rhino.

Creative Arts
College of Creative Arts Dean Kurt Daw and University Development Creative Arts Campaign Director Carma Zisman were recently named to the board of directors of Theatre Bay Area.

Design and Industry
"New Views on R. Buckminster Fuller," co-edited by Assistant Professor of Design and Industry Hsiao-Yun Chu, was published by Stanford University Press.

Holistic Healing
"Acupuncture Use in the United States: Findings from the National Health Interview Survey," a paper coauthored by Assistant Professor of Holistic Healing Adam Burke, was listed as one of the "top-20 most cited articles" by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

Social Work
Professor Emeritus of Social Work Kunitake Morgan Yamanaka was inducted into the California Social Work Hall of Distinction on May 16 in Santa Clara.

Theatre Arts
Professor of Theatre Arts Joel Schechter participated in a panel discussion, "Theatre in Revolutionary Times," on May 22 at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
