American Indian Studies
American Indian Studies Lecturer Phil Klasky was awarded the 2009 Anthony Grassroots Prize from the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment. Klasky accepted the award on behalf of the nonprofit he founded, Community ORV Watch.

Cinema
"Canada," a short film by Cinema Lecturer Anjali Sundaram, screened at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles held April 21-26.

Management
Assistant Professor of Management Denise Kleinrichert spoke on a panel at the UC Hastings College of Law Business Law Journal's annual symposium on April 16. Kleinrichert spoke on the ethical implications of corporate governance and financial markets. 

Philosophy
Assistant Professor of Philosophy Justin Tiwald won the 2008 Dao Annual Best Essay Award from Dao: A Journal of Comparative Philosophy for his article "A Right of Rebellion in the Mengzi?"

Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration
Associate Professor of Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration and Director of the Pacific Leadership Institute Nina Roberts served on a panel with filmmaker Ken Burns and other leading park advocates at the Parks for All Conference at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area on April 22.
