Creative Writing Lecturer Brian Thorstenson's new play "Over the Mountain" premiered April 15 and will run through April 25 at Brava! For Women in the Arts.

Associate Professor of Creative Writing Peter Orner discussed his oral history book "Underground America" at San Francisco General Hospital as part of a Medical Grand Rounds sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco Medical Humanities and Center for Vulnerable Populations on April 14.

Journalism
Professor of Journalism Ken Kobre was the guest editor of April 2009 The Digital Journalist, the online monthly devoted to visual journalism. Kobre was the first selected for the honor.

Philosophy
Philosophy Professor and Department Chair Anita Silvers presented the paper "Thinking about the Good: Reconfiguring Liberal Metaphysics for People with Cognitive Disabilities," at the American Philosophical Association meeting in Vancouver on April 9.
