Professor Emerita of Chemistry and Biochemistry (and current lecturer) Margareta Sequin presented a workshop based on her book The Chemistry of Plants; Perfumes, Pigments, and Poisons at the Chico State Herbarium on Oct. 13.

Design & Industry
Design and Industry Lecturer and filmmaker Spencer McCall screened his new crime mystery film The Institute at the Mill Valley Film Festival on Oct. 11.

Health Education
Professor of Health Education and Director of the Institute for Holistic Health Studies Adam Burke on Friday, Oct. 12 attended his final meeting as an Advisory Council member of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Burke's three-year term began with his appointment by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius in September 2009.

Women and Gender Studies
Professor of Women and Gender Studies Nan Alamilla Boyd discussed her latest book, Bodies of Evidence: The Practice of Queer Oral History, on Oct. 11 at the Oral History Association's Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio.
