"HORIZON/S," a solo exhibition by Assistant Professor of Art Matt Lipps, opened Oct. 28 at the Silverman Gallery, 804 Sutter Street, San Francisco.

Associate Professor of Art Paul Mullins opened his solo exhibition of new paintings titled "For Here or To Go" on Oct. 29 at Marx and Zavattero, 77 Geary Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco.

Geosciences Lecturer Jan Null and his National Weather Service colleague John Gordon received the National Weather Association 2011 "Public Service Education Award" last week. The award was for their work to raise awareness about hyperthermia risks to children left in vehicles.

Music and Dance
Professor of Music Roger Woodward received the Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis from Poland's Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for a lifetime of prestigious collaborations, solo artistry and passionate use of music to promote human rights. Read more at SF State News
