Alex Flett
Professor Emeritus of Theatre Arts Alex Flett died Nov. 16 at the age of 90. Flett joined SF State in 1956 as Theatre Arts Technical Director and went on to teach stagecraft and oral interpretation, as well as direct several plays. Former students and colleagues remember his enthusiasm, sense of humor, exceptional knowledge of the craft and personal mentorship. In a 2005 SF State Magazine interview, actress Annette Bening said he was one of the "great, smart, wise and seasoned… veteran professionals" who guided her studies.
