School of Music and Dance
Music Lecturer Vance George conducted a concert featuring the Goshen College choirs, a high school choir and the Toledo Symphony on Nov. 15 in Goshen, Ind.

Herbert Bielawa, professor emeritus of music, was guest composer at a concert with the CSU Bakersfield Concert Band on Nov. 15.

Dee Spencer, professor of music, played piano for Jimmy Scott at the Oct. 22 "Vocal Vanguard" concert presented by the San Francisco Jazz Festival.

Cinema
"CACHAO: Uno Mas," a production of SF State's Documentary Film Institute, screened as the opening night film Nov. 7 at the 2008 Latino International Film Festival in San Francisco. The documentary is co-produced by Stephen Ujlaki, professor and chair of cinema, and co-executive produced by President Robert A. Corrigan.
