Clark and Clinton
Professor of Communication Studies Joseph Tuman commented on Retired
General Wesley Clark's endorsement of presidential candidate Hillary
Rodham Clinton on KCBS-AM on Sept. 15. "I think anytime a candidate
gets the endorsement from someone who was in the position that General
Clark was in, it adds to the rhetorical ethos of him being a military
leader,” said Tuman. “Senator Clinton wants people to see
her as someone who could be a commander in chief, so getting this endorsement
definitely helps that way.”
SF Promise
On Sept. 17, SF State President Robert Corrigan was featured on ABC 7
news discussing SF Promise, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's proposal
to help middle school students prepare for college. SF Promise would
guarantee a spot at SF State for all 6th graders who complete the program
and qualify for admission. "For San Francisco State it means we're
really able to honor our priority, which is to serve the students of
San Francisco," Corrigan said.
