Art Professor James W. Davis had two books published this year: "Hybrid Culture: Mix-Art"; and "Image as Idea: the Arts in Global Cultures." Both works were published by Kendall Hunt and illuminate the critical ways in which the arts comment upon the world in which we live.

Cinema Department Production Coordinator Raymond Rea's latest film, "The Sweet New," will screen at the San Francisco Lesbian Bay Bisexual Transgender Community Center, Sept. 13. "The Sweet New," which emerged from a play Rea wrote, is part of Frameline's monthly film program "Frameline at The Center." The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
