They are the first cohort of Head Start teachers to earn a Raza studies degree in the Dual Language Pilot Program at SF State, which provides early childhood education and Raza studies classes. The program emphasized the use of both Spanish and English in a multicultural learning environment and helped participants fulfill a new federal requirement that all Head Start supervising teachers possess a four-year college degree.
