Welcome Days for new students Aug. 19 - 21

August 11, 2009 -- SF State will host the third annual Welcome Days, a three-day program to orient the class of 2013, transfer students and international students and their family members to the campus community.

New students gather at informational booths on the quad during the 2008 Welcome DaysBeginning Wednesday, Aug. 19, the event is intended to prepare new students for academic success and acquaint them with SF State.

Programs on Wednesday and Friday are targeted toward students who will be living on campus. In addition to residence life activities, parents can attend panel discussions on the financial matters of college and other current topics. Activities on Thursday, Aug. 20 will introduce students and parents to faculty, academic programs and resources that ensure college success. Welcome Days events are coordinated by LEAD (the Leadership, Engagement, Action, Development department) in collaboration with other University departments and programs.
