February 8, 2008 -- SF State today rolled out a new Web design template that will provide a visually appealing and unifying design for the University's colleges and departments.

University magazine honored as best in the West

December 6, 2007 -- SF State Magazine received its fifth Award of Excellence from the Council of Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) District VII. The Bronze Medal for Outstanding Communications was announced Dec. 4 during the district's annual conference in Las Vegas.

Through its district awards program, CASE, one of the largest nonprofit education associations, honors best practices in alumni relations, communications, fundraising, marketing and other areas.

CASE District VII, which represents colleges and universities in Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah, selected SF State Magazine as one of the top three university magazines in the Western region of the United States. The past year's issues were judged on creativity/overall impression, writing, design/photography and effective use of resources.

Since its inaugural issue in 2000, SF State Magazine, the biannual publication for alumni, faculty, students, staff and friends of the University, has received four other CASE Awards: Award of Excellence, University Magazines (2001-2002), Award of Excellence, Magazine Writing (2001-2002), Award of Excellence, Magazine Writing (2003-2004), and Bronze Medal for Outstanding Communications, Magazine Writing (2004).

The latest issue of SF State Magazine, featuring a cover story on jazz great John Handy, will begin arriving in campus mailboxes Dec. 7.
