Undergraduate
applications for spring 2007 admission are being accepted through
Sept. 29.
Transfer students with at least 60 transferable units and first-time freshmen are eligible for admission. The Sept. 29 deadline ensures that SF State does not admit more students than it can adequately serve, said Jo Volkert, associate vice president for enrollment planning and management. In recent years, SF State has received record numbers of applications for admission, as prospective students tend to apply to multiple universities and the population of students graduating from high schools in California has risen. SF State received 43,655 applications for fall 2006, an increase of 10 percent over the previous fall. Prospective students are encouraged to apply online, at CSU Mentor, to receive an admissions decision more quickly. Graduate student applications for Spring 2007 are due by Nov. 1. However, certain graduate programs have earlier deadlines and require an additional application. For details, visit the Division of Graduate Studies Web site or call (415) 338-2234. Undergraduate applications for fall 2007 admission will be accepted beginning Oct. 1. For more details on SF State admissions, including information on majors and degree programs, costs, financial aid, on-campus housing and student life, visit the Prospective Students Web site, call (415) 338-2355 or e-mail: outreach@sfsu.edu. Prospective students interested in on-campus housing are encouraged to submit a housing application before being admitted to SF State, as space is limited and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For details, visit the Housing & Residential Services Web site or call (415) 338-1067. -- Matt Itelson
