Newly admitted students: file 'Intent to Register'

April 17, 2006

Prized athletic recruits who sign Letters of Intent are not the only students asked to inform a college of their choice that they plan to enroll there. All newly admitted SFSU students -- both undergraduate and graduate students -- who plan to enter the University this fall must file an online "Intent to Register" by May 1.

Students can file their Intent to Register on the SFSU Application Status Web site.

Students admitted after May 1 will have two weeks after their date of admission to file their Intent to Register.

The Intent to Register process allows students to confirm their choice of SFSU, while enabling the University to plan for the number of incoming students. For example, it helps academic departments determine if adjustments in class schedules are needed to accommodate the incoming students.

Answers to frequently asked questions regarding Intent to Register are posted on the Registrar's Office Web site.

For more information, newly admitted undergraduates may contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (415) 338-6486 or ugadmit@sfsu.edu. Newly admitted graduate students may contact the Division of Graduate Studies at (415) 338-2234 or gradstdy@sfsu.edu.

For details on admissions, majors and degree programs, costs, financial aid, on-campus housing and student life, visit the Prospective Students Web site or call (415) 338-2355.
