A Closer Look: Asian and Pacific Islander mural
Image of the artist's proof of the Asian and Pacific Islander mural which features Ghandi, Yuri Kochiyama and other API activists standing among the roots of a large tree

A view of the artist's proof of the new Asian and Pacific Islander (API) mural at the Cesar Chavez Center gives a sneak peak of the final work, to be unveiled Friday, April 30. Commissioned by the Student Center Governing Board, the mural was created and painted by David Cho, with his assistant Albert Yip. Featuring such leaders as Mohandas K. Ghandi and Yuri Kochiyama, the mural displays the cultural richness and strength of the API community. It will be formally unveiled and dedicated at a ceremony that takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the south plaza of the Student Center.
