A Closer Look: New student orientation

photo of the Residence Apartment Building

GatorAider Michael Abena (right) gestures toward the Business building near the close of a campus tour he and fellow GatorAider Kevin Briancesco (left) recently led for transfer students. The transfer students were on campus for a daylong orientation that included planning and registering for classes and getting an introduction to SFSU academic and student life. Orientation sessions for first-time freshmen and transfer students happen all summer long. By the time classes start Aug. 27, more than 7,000 students, family members and friends will have participated in orientation.
