Andrew Speight’s all-faculty jazz band welcomed party-goers to the festivities, and the University Chorus, directed by assistant professor of music David Xiques (below), performed Dona Nobis Pacem from Bach's Mass in B Minor and “Hail to San Francisco State.” Everyone was invited to join the choir in singing “Happy Birthday.”

Corrigan, who announced that Andrea Olson, administrative support assistant in the Liberal Studies office, was randomly selected from the group for the honor of “STAR of the Year.”

A 132-foot cake sweetened the celebration, and there were “gifts” for all. Costumed Gator mascots and Gator Aider volunteers handed out fortune cookies and cards good for discounts at the Bookstore and Macy’s.Picture of two students eating cake
