See it on KQED: OLLI's on the air | ||||
September 5, 2003
The 30-second spot calls attention to the new Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the College’s Downtown Center. "Join a learning community of people 50 and older," the message encourages, and take courses like "San Francisco Tomorrow," "The Politics of Development, Housing and Jobs," "Redefining Aging," and "Creating the Work You Love by Becoming an Entrepreneur." The message ends with the OLLI tagline: Insightful learning for ageless minds. In addition to the Saturday airing, the message is scheduled for these programs:
OLLI is a new SFSU program supported by a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation offering custom courses, forums and field trips for experienced, engaged learners. The membership program is geared toward people 50 years and older who want to explore creative interests, current events, wellness and life transitions. The workshops, public forums and courses -- all taught by senior or emeritus faculty from SFSU and other universities as well as expert professionals from the College of Extended Learning -- tap into the knowledge and experience of the Bay Area’s older residents. OLLI classes start Sept. 22. Check the College of Extended Learning Web site for details. To enroll contact Gerard Alcantara at (415) 405-7711 or gerard@sfsu.edu . |
