The Office of Student Programs and Leadership Development (OSPLD) recently honored students and student organizations for their role in improving campus and student life and providing community service. Student organizations honored included the Armenian Student Association for an event featuring traditional Armenian music and the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity for its role in raising money for programs aiding people with disabilities.

OSPLD gave a special award to five students who aided in a November 28 CPR rescue when a student in an upper division kinesiology course suffered a seizure and went into cardiac. The students who came to his aid were Michael Lam, Peter Schrey, Ollie Simmons, Viola Fam and Marcos Mocine-McQueen.

More than 50 students who completed OSPLD's leadership institute were also recognized during the May luncheon.
