SFSU's School of Music and Dance will celebrate dance and music from around the world at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in a concert at McKenna Theatre in the Creative Arts building.

Billed as a "cultural pastiche," the lively event will showcase a range of cultural styles and interpretations as SFSU students and guest artists dance to live music played on traditional instruments. The evening's program is directed by Dance Department lecturer Alicia Pierce, a specialist in African-Haitian, Jazz, and Dunham techniques.

The performance is part of a 40-year dance tradition in SFSU's Dance Department, which offers a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with concentrations in Jazz, ballet, African-Haitian, flamenco, and modern styles.

General admission is $10; $8 for seniors and students.
