With less than two weeks before voters go to the polls, SFSU will be the site of one of the last forums for candidates in races for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and state office.

Nearly 20 candidates are scheduled to take part in a forum from noon to 2 p.m. Friday on Malcolm X Plaza on campus.

"The forum is an important effort to help student and staff voters make informed choices among competing candidates," said Marsha Adler, SFSU director of Civic Engagement and coordinator of voter education and registration drives on campus.

Following is a list of candidates scheduled to attend:

  • San Francisco Board of Supervisors District 4: Larisa Casillas, Barry Hermanson, Ed Jew, Marks Lam, Andrew Lee, Fiona Ma and Joel Vantresca.
  • San Francisco Board of Supervisors District 6: Chris Daly, Roger Gordon and Michael Sweet.
  • San Francisco Board of Supervisors District 8: James Green, Eileen Hansen and Shawn O'Hearn.
  • San Francisco Assessor-Recorder: Mabel Teng.
  • State Assembly District 12: Leland Lee.
  • Secretary of State: Larry Shoup.
  • State Controller: Laura Wells.

The forum is sponsored by Associated Students and the SFSU chapter of the California State Employees Association.
