Abstract |
Analyzes the 1996 presidential campaign from a sociocultural perspective, concluding that Bill Clinton understands well the opportunity of a general return to traditional values in American society. His success isattributed to his policy modulation and militant centrism, reflected in his signing of the Republican welfare reform bill and ability to receive support from African Americans.
