Abstract |
(from the chapter) Explores the traditional view of lesbian couples as merged, fused, and/or enmeshed in light of the newer and more affirming perspectives that interpret clinical issues of lesbian couples from a broader systems perspective. Issues related to same-gender socialization, internalized homophobia, and societal oppression and social exclusion are addressed. Common presenting issues are discussed. Therapist-specific issues within social work practive in working with lesbian couples are identified. ((c) 1999 APA/PsycINFO, all rights reserved)
