Abstract (from the chapter) Explores the traditional view of lesbian couples as merged, fused, and/or enmeshed in light of the newer and more affirming perspectives that interpret clinical issues of lesbian couples from a broader systems perspective. Issues related to same-gender socialization, internalized homophobia, and societal oppression and social exclusion are addressed. Common presenting issues are discussed.
