Abstract This study assessed the effectiveness of an observational learning paradigm on two developmentally delayed Latino preschool children's performance on the WPPSI-R Block Design subtest. The study utilized a pretest-post-test design. The two dependent variables used to assess the intervention were (1) the rate of acquisition and (2) a 'gain' score. After two pre-tests, the subjects viewed modeled trials of the completion a block design and then attempted to construct one. The rates of acquisition reflected differences between the two subjects, which correlated with their 'gain' scores. Implications and future research directions are discussed.
