Abstract The author discusses bereavement from a practice and personal perspective. She presents her personal experience with the death of her husband, at the age of 31, and shares her personal reactions, and the impact of this experience on her professional practice. This study includes a description and evaluation of a Bereavement Support Group conducted at McGill University, School of Social Work, as a component of this writer's graduate studies. The Living with Loss Bereavement Support Group was developed to meet the need of a group for family members and friends who have lost a loved one. This article outlines the process of beginning the group, the structure, sessions, and group process. The study also discusses the group evaluation and recommendations. (Journal abstract, edited.) .
