| Abstract |
Questionnaire data are used to explore the relationship among 38 Latinas, age 25+, in southern CA who participated in the fictive kin system of compadrazgo, or coparenthood, that encourages the sharing of childrearing responsibilities among parents & acquired godparents. It is important for social workers to recognize these relationships when they assess all possible elements of support available to Latino families, particularly to the increasing number of female heads of households. 2 Tables, 47 References.
