Abstract Introduces an issue commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Polish American Historical Association and the 75th anniversary of the publication of William Isaac Thomas and FlorianZnaniecki s five-volume The Polish Peasant in Europe and America (1918-20). This work marked the beginning of serious scholarly inquiry into the Polish emigration experience.
