SEMINAR FOR NEW TUTORS
- R/W/SS and M/S/SS seminar meetings begin the first week of classes.
- Students in R/W/SS seminar meet Wednesday, 1-3. The M/S/SS seminar will meet Wednesday 4-6 (provisional).
AU697 / AU796 TUTORING ACROSS DISCIPLINES (3 UNITS)
All new tutors take AU697/796 during their first semester working at the LAC. AU697/796 meets weekly for two hours.
Seminar times for Reading/Writing tutors is Wednesday, 1-3PM.
Seminar times for Math/Sciences tutors are Wednesday, 4-6PM. Please ask for details during the interview.
During the seminar sessions, tutors discuss readings, learn and practice tutoring strategies, and provide feedback to each other.
Outside of the sessions tutors read scholarly articles, observe tutoring sessions, are observed while tutoring, write journals and complete two essays.
