SEMINAR FOR NEW TUTORS
January - May, 2010
AU697 TUTORING ACROSS DISCIPLINES
All new tutors take AU697 during their first semester working at the LAC. AU697 meets weekly for two hours.
Seminar timings for Reading/Writing tutors are Monday, 1-3PM or Tuesday, 10-12.
Seminar timings for Math/Science tutors are Wednesday or Thursday after 4PM.
During the seminar sessions, tutors discuss readings, learn and practice tutoring strategies, and provide feedback to each other.
Outside of the sessions tutors read scholarly articles, observe tutoring sessions, are observed while tutoring, write journals and complete two essays.
