SEMINAR FOR NEW TUTORS
January - May, 2011
- R/W/SS and M/S/SS seminar meetings begin the week of January 23.
- Students in R/W/SS seminar meet either Tuesday, 10-12 or Wednesday, 1-3. The M/S/SS seminar will meet Wednesday 4-6 (provisional).
AU697 TUTORING ACROSS DISCIPLINES
All new tutors take AU697 during their first semester working at the LAC. AU697 meets weekly for two hours.
Seminar times are finalized at the beginning of each semester, depending on the schedules of the tutors taking the seminar.
Seminar times for Reading/Writing tutors are Monday or Wednesday, 1-3PM or Tuesday, 10-12AM.
Seminar times for Math/Science tutors are Wednesday,4 - 6PM.

During the seminar sessions, tutors discuss readings, learn and practice tutoring strategies, and provide feedback to each other.
Outside of the sessions tutors read scholarly articles, observe tutoring sessions, are observed while tutoring, write journals and complete two essays.
