The Journal of Student Research in Kinesiology was established in 1998 by the Department of Kinesiology to provide an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their original research in a scholarly format. The articles are cross-disciplinary, employ multiple methodologies, and examine many of the field’s most interesting and thought-provoking intellectual problems.

Prospective authors undergo an editorial process similar to that of other academic publications. Articles selected for publication must present interesting and dynamic intellectual problems, sophisticated analyses, and good writing. The student authors meet regularly with advising faculty members to revise and develop the articles into publishable quality. The Journal is published annually, each spring. To date, eight volumes of the Journal have been published.
