Education

Nitzhia Shaked was born and raised in Jerusalem.She received her LL.B (Juris Doctor)degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem,and became a memeber of the Israeli Bar in 1976.In 1979 she received an LL.M degree (masters in law) from Harvard Law School. Ms. Shaked became a member of the California Bar association in 1989.

Research Interests

In addition to her law career,she has been engaged in Jewish text research and teaching since the mid-Seventies.Boston Hebrew College,UC Berkeley,Lehrhaus Judaica,SF Institute for Jewish Studies and Midrasha are some of the many places where she has taught prior to joining the Jewish Studies Program at SFSU 4 years ago.

Other activities include participation in a monthly radio program "Torah Talk",and writing a book on the legal aspect of the Trial of Jesus.
