Integrating Computing into School Curricula
Prerequisites: ITEC 715 or equivalent.
This course is for teachers who want to learn how to integrate information technology into the K-12 curriculum. Students will learn how to design inquiry-oriented curriculum that makes effective use of information technology. Students will know how to: build a web site for instructional purposes; apply the elements of curriculum design to a web based-project, and design a web based-project with classroom support materials, e.g. templates & handouts for the K-12 classroom or for adults. Students will apply inquiry-based curriculum design to a web based project, design effective student performance assessment(s) to a unit of study, and design engaging and effective classroom experiences with digitized primary sources using Internet Explore and/or Netscape browsers, iPhoto and iMovie, and Dreamweaver software.
