Seminar in Educational Research
This course is offered by the Graduate College of Education's Department of Equity, Leadership Studies and Instiuctional Technologies (ELSIT). Students conceptualize and write a research proposal that identifies and analyzes an educational research problem; develop research methodology and techniques, including sufficient familiarity with descriptive statistics to interpret writing; and apply findings to field problems. Students will be able to identify qualitative and quantitative research, perform a literature review, develop research instruments (surveys, questionnaires, interviews, observation), complete an on-line certification by the National Institutes of Health about Conducting Human Subjects Research, and validate findings.
