ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES
DEPARTMENT OF EQUITY, LEADERSHIP STUDIES, AND
INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES (ELSIT)
GRADUATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
The Department of Equity, Leadership Studies, and Instructional Technologies (ELSIT) in the Graduate College of Education, San Francisco State University is searching for an Assistant Professor, full-time Tenure-Track faculty position in the Instructional Technologies (ITEC) program. Essential qualifications include: an earned doctorate in instructional or educational technologies or a related field; evidence of scholarly productivity or the potential for scholarship; commitment to teaching, research and innovation; ability to teach graduate level courses in instructional technologies; ability to develop funded projects; willingness to explore, develop and implement alternative instructional delivery approaches; and the ability to supervise graduate students in culminating experience projects.
Responsibilities include: (1) teaching graduate-level courses in the Instructional Technologies program; (2) conducting research in the faculty members area of expertise; (3) working constructively with peers and students who embody a diversity of values, philosophies, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds; (4) implementing a student-centered learning environment in all courses, recognizing that learning is a collaboration for advancing knowledge; and (5) collaborating with ITEC faculty to develop a future curriculum to meet the challenges of rapidly developing technologies and pedagogies.
POSITION: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track. Full-time, 12 month.
SALARY: Commensurate with background and experience.

START DATE: August 2013
The ELSIT department offers a range of five degree programs with emphases in adult education, educational administration, instructional technologies, equity and social justice, and interdisciplinary special interest. ITEC faculty members serve as a resource for faculty, students and the community in the fields of instructional technology, instructional design, and the development of technology-based instructional materials.
