History, theory,
research, physiological basis and application of biofeedback and other self-regulatory
techniques. Use of electromyography, thermal, electrodermal and electroencephalograph
feedback techniques and self-practice of autogenic training. Classwork,
three units; lab, one unit. Prerequisite: one college course in biology

and ecological healing. Creating community art, ritual and collective
healing.

cultural exploration of the frontiers of health and healing supported by weekly
presentations from leading researchers, clinicians, authors, healers and social

An exploration of the natural treatment options of Naturopathic Medicine and as a profession. Includes the philosophy, principles and practice of naturopathic medicine: the science and art of preventing and treating disease with natural therapies. Studies include a variety of natural therapies: diet and nutritional biochemistry, botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and physical medicine and spirituality/mind-body medicine.

Practicum and intern
experience in holistic health, including practice in settings such as biofeedback
clinic, traditional Chinese medical clinics, schools, colleges, hospitals,
health centers, and work settings. Prerequisite: approval by holistic health
advisor.

Explores the psychophysiology
of healing. Special emphasis upon the foundation, ramifications and practice
of therapeutic touch and healee-healer interaction. In-depth topicalpresentations
of the healing process.

Seminar: explores
healing practices springing from different cultural traditions. Comparison
focuses on concepts and experience of health and illness, role of healer
and patient, healing practices and the nature of the healing process. Differences
and universal principles of healing are discussed.
