Anyone can derive benefit
from the Holistic Health program. Yet, the program is of special interest
to different students:
The
HH Minor serves as an interdisciplinary liberal arts program that complements
or supplements a student's major field of study, especially in health-related
areas. Benefits for HH Minor/Certificate students include: individual
advising with IHHS faculty, priority on the waiting list for HH courses
and opportunity to network with other HH students.
Students
preparing for careers in complementary/alternative health care careers
such as Chinese Medicine, Naturopathy, somatic therapy and biofeedback.
The HH program offers a pre-professional track which can both help prepare
you for a career in health care and possibly reduce the number of required
courses you will need to take when you arrive there. (See Special
Major option)
Holistic
health is important to people in all health related professions such as
nurses, physicians, paramedics, health educators, physical therapists,
occupational therapists, nutritionists, counselors, psychotherapists,
health researchers, health consultants, trainers, etc.
Holistic
Health studies can help educators and business managers explore creative
work options or organizational applications.
Holistic
Health courses benefit students and others in the community who wish to
learn essential lifeskills for stress reduction, personal growth, self-healing,
ecological living or cultural change.
Nursing
CEU: All courses offered qualify for continuing nursing credits (provider
number 00344).
