Human Resources at SFSU: A Legacy Plan for the 21st Century
July 2000
As part of an on-going strategic planning process for the Human Resources Division of the University, the leadership and staff have developed the following strategic plan to guide our operations for the next five years. The work of the Commission on University Strategic Planning addresses major planning themes and a university vision for the 21 century. Our effort in Human Resources is to provide a plan which complements and supports the University’s strategic plan through specific objectives and initiatives for the various administrative areas within our division: Employment and Compensation, Benefits and Professional Development, Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resource Information Systems, Payroll, Risk Management and Auxiliary Oversight and Environmental Health and Safety.
Our vision is fourfold:
- To facilitate timely, accurate, paperless, business and human resources transactions through a fully operational Human Resources Information Management system accessible to University user departments;
- To promote a User Friendly environment dedicated to quality performance and accountability through web-enabled processes and performance management programs;
- To ensure sound leadership and effective business and human resources decision making at the department level through a fully integrated and collaborative employment practices and business management training program;
- To provide leadership and administrative measures to minimize exposure to business, employment and legal risk and support each employee’s attainment of his/her full potential.
