Registered student organizations that use University premises and facilities are required to maintain appropriate insurance coverage as per the CSU’s insurance requirements. Student organizations must first register with the Leadership, Engagement, Action, Development (LEAD) to obtain special events insurance purchase.
LEAD will direct the student event organizers to Linda Medina-Sam in Risk Management at (415) 338-2691 when special events insurance purchased is needed.
Types and amounts of coverage have been established by the University for all parties to show evidence of satisfactory insurance coverage. Details of these requirements are provided in CSU Executive Order 849 – CSU Insurance requirements.
Required Certificates of Insurance must be received and paid prior to the commencement of any scheduled event.
